Volleyball Recap: Geffen Academy Comes Up Short

Geffen Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the California Academy of Math & Science Coyotes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

Geffen Academy couldn't get the W, but boy did they fight for it: two sets took extra rallies. The final score came out to 25-21, 26-24, 21-25, 26-24.

Geffen Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for California Academy of Math & Science, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.

Geffen Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. After both having extra time off, California Academy of Math & Science and Edgewood will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Coyotes surely won't give up without a fight.
