Basketball Recap: Clarksville Victorious

Rossview came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Clarksville, but Sheldon Huber wouldn't allow it. The Clarksville Wildcats walked away with a 72-65 victory over the Rossview Hawks on Thursday thanks in part to Huber, who shot 50% from the field en route to 36 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Clarksville is 4-2 when Huber posts 20 or more points, but 4-13 otherwise.

Trey Youngs was another key player, going 6-for-9 on his way to 21 points. What's more, he also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Rossview lost, don't look at Logan Piekielko. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Piekielko is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 57% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Roland Morton, who posted 13 points.

Clarksville's record now sits at 8-15. As for Rossview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-20.

Clarksville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-41 win against Northwest on the 1st. As for Rossview, they have also already played their next game, a 59-55 defeat against Henry County on the 1st.
