Baseball Recap: Highland Park Wins Going Away Against Southeast

Highland Park won the last time they faced Southeast and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Scots were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Knights. The Scots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by nine runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Mason Foxford, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Highland Park: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 4-7-2 otherwise. Jaxon Bayless also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Highland Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .562 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

The victory got Highland Park back to even at 7-7-2. As for Southeast, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Highland Park will square off against Schlagle on Thursday. The Stallions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18 runs per game on average), something the Scots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Southeast, they will take on Lincoln College Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
