Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Loyd Star

Loyd Star entered their tilt with Wesson on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Wesson Cobras. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-12 last Monday.

Riley Case looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, Jordyn Kees was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Loyd Star's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Mason Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Loyd Star's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Wesson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Loyd Star will host North Pike at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wesson, they are taking a road trip to challenge Salem at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
