Basketball Recap: Harlem Victorious

Harlem lost to Marian Central Catholic back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Harlem Huskies escaped with a win against the Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes by the margin of a single free throw, 56-55. The win was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Marian Central Catholic still got an impressive performance from Juliette Huff, who went 8 for 19 on her way to 24 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The game was Huff's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Wrzos, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Harlem's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Marian Central Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Harlem didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-30 loss against Kaneland on the 27th. As for Marian Central Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 75-31 defeat against Peoria Notre Dame on the 27th.
