League recap: Canyon Crest Academy gets lift from Kuznia's big bat

Tom Kuznia was on fire this week, as he led Palomar with a .714 average, one home run and four RBIs. Meanwhile, Canyon Crest Academy put together a 1-2 week.

Top honors in the league this week go to Mt. Carmel, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. The Sundevils beat Castle Park 3-1, Imperial 10-2 and Mount Miguel 5-2.

Poway put two runners on via walks this week, fewest in the league, but Mt. Carmel's staff still boasts the league's best control, having issued only 75 bases on balls over 209 total innings.

There were 14 hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. They were led by Keanu Alfaro, who hit .714 this week (5-for-7).

The Ravens' Riley Adams racked up five RBIs this week, more than any other hitter. He now stands at 20 RBIs on the season, which puts him 15th in the league.



Rancho Bernardo's Matt Osborne threw seven shutout innings in a 2-0 win over Rancho Buena Vista on Wednesday. He struck out five, allowing three hits.

Ryan Eto was an RBI machine on Wednesday, as he knocked in four runs during Westview's 16-6 win over San Marcos. He went 1-for-4 and scored two runs.
