Basketball Game Preview: West Broward Bobcats vs. Piper Bengals

The West Broward Bobcats will square off against the Piper Bengals on Monday. West Broward is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, West Broward beat Plantation 68-60.

West Broward got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matthew Martinez out in front who went 6 for 15 en route to 27 points and seven boards. The game was Martinez's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bedirhan Menguc, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Piper was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 71-39 loss at the hands of South Plantation. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while the Paladins are ranked 64th).

West Broward's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Piper, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

West Broward strolled past Piper in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 66-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Broward since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
