Clarke County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were dealt a 49-7 defeat at the hands of East Rockingham. East Rockingham's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Raines led the charge by rushing for 126 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries, while also throwing for 160 yards and three TDs on only eight passes. Those 126 rushing yards gave Raines a new career-high. Demetrius Arrington was another key rusher, gaining 132 total yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarke County will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lunenburg Central at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for East Rockingham, they will venture away from home to face off against Harrisonburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
