Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets vs. Watkins Memorial Warriors

Mt. Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Watkins Memorial Warriors. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-14, 22-25, 25-20.

Mt. Vernon's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Audrey Stuller, who had 24 digs. Another player making a difference was Kiley Compton, who had ten digs and three aces.

Leading Watkins Memorial to victory were Sofia Zamora and Emily Thompson. Zamora had 23 digs and four aces, while Thompson had five digs and five aces.
