Basketball Recap: Wyandotte Comes Up Short

Wyandotte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Fairland Owls 53-9. The contest marked the Bears' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Wyandotte's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. As for Fairland, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Wyandotte will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Quapaw at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Fairland, they will welcome Commerce at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairland's defense has only allowed 24 points per game this season, so Commerce's offense will have their work cut out for them.
