Baseball Game Preview: Manteca Buffaloes vs. East Union Lancers

For the second straight game, Manteca will face off against East Union. The Buffaloes are taking a road trip to challenge the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Manteca's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so East Union's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Manteca took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against East Union by a score of 6-2.

Jimmy Burns looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nate Slikker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Navarro, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

East Union has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season. As for Manteca, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7.
