Basketball Game Preview: Savanna Rebels vs. Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros

The Savanna Rebels will head out to face off against the Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Savanna knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Rancho Alamitos likes a good challenge.

If Rancho Alamitos heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Savanna took over last week. Savanna slipped by Los Amigos 56-55 on Tuesday.

Paul Henderson went supernova for Savanna, putting up 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. The dominant performance gave Henderson a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Branden Ellis, who posted 14 points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Rancho Alamitos lost 51-27 to Santiago on Tuesday. The contest marked the Vaqueros' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Savanna's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Rancho Alamitos, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.

Savanna came out on top in a nail-biter against Rancho Alamitos in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, sneaking past 64-61. Does Savanna have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rancho Alamitos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
