Baseball Recap: Borger Comes Up Short

Borger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 22-11 to the Hereford Whitefaces. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Whitefaces this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

Lincoln Buchanan and Maverick Lopez did some serious damage despite the final result: Buchanan scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Lopez scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5. Mason Mangum was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Borger's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Hereford, they pushed their record up to 14-9-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

While Borger had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
