Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for West Hills

West Hills took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Valhalla, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolf Pack had just enough and edged out the Norsemen 4-3. For the Wolf Pack, this counts as revenge for the 6-0 win the Norsemen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Kristina Deal was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maddie Aylesbury, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.

West Hills' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Valhalla, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Looking ahead, West Hills will be playing in front of their home fans against Steele Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Valhalla, they will welcome Helix at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Norsemen 3.8, the Highlanders 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
