Volleyball Recap: Cy-Fair Takes a Loss

After flying high against Jersey Village on Tuesday, Cy-Fair came back down to earth. The Bobcats fell just short of the Memorial Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Cy-Fair started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-9, 15-5.

Macie Caramanica paced Cy-Fair's offense, picking up 12 kills. Caramanica were helped by Giselle Barbosa and Mia Romero, who contributed 14 assists each. Caramanica was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Cy-Fair's loss dropped their record down to 19-17. As for Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season.

Cy-Fair has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Stratford on the 14th. As for Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Cypress Creek on the 14th.
