Baseball Recap: Ames Drops Season-High Score on Mason City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ames). They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Mason City Mohawks on Thursday. The Little Cyclones haven't had any issues with the Mohawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Ames' victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Mason City, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Ames will take on Marshalltown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Little Cyclones' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mason City, they have already played their next game, an 18-3 win against Decorah-North Winneshiek on the 30th.
