Softball Recap: Aragon Takes a Loss

If Aragon was riding high fresh off their 14-3 takedown of Carlmont last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Aragon Dons fell just short of the Mills Vikings by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday. The Dons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Olivia Mukherjee and Taylor Workman stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mukherjee went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Workman got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one triple. The dominant performance gave Mukherjee a new career-high in RBI. Destiny Garcia also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.

Aragon's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Mills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1-1.

Looking ahead, Aragon will head out to square off against Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valley Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Aragon surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mills, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mountain View at 6:30 p.m.
