Basketball Game Preview: Santa Fe Indian Braves vs. Cobre Indians

The Santa Fe Indian Braves will challenge the Cobre Indians at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Santa Fe Indian and Robertson, and Santa Fe Indian kept the tradition alive. Santa Fe Indian received a blow last Thursday as they fell 53-35 to Robertson. The game marked the Braves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Cobre unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Hot Springs by a score of 76-73. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (65), the Indians still had to take the loss.

Santa Fe Indian will have to contain Zavin Guck as he made an impact in Cobre's last game. He dropped a double-double with 38 points and 11 rebounds. Guck has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Izon Guck, who posted 15 points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Cobre was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their third loss (out of 16 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
