Softball Game Preview: Edward Little Red Eddies vs. Greely Rangers

The Edward Little Red Eddies will head out to challenge the Greely Rangers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Edward Little will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

If Edward Little beats Greely with six runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Red Eddies came out on top against Lewiston by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday.

Kassidy Lobb made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Lobb was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylee Lebrun, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Greely and Gray-New Gloucester meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Rangers blew past the Patriots 18-1.

Edward Little's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Greely, their record now sits at 2-0.

Edward Little couldn't quite get it done against Greely in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 12-9. Can the Red Eddies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
