Hillsboro barely beat Wilmington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians put the hurt on the Hurricane with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Hillsboro won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20, 25-23.

Tylee Davis paced Hillsboro's offense, picking up 13 kills. Davis got some help from Kayla Seeling and her 25 assists. Emmalee Young controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

The win made it two in a row for Hillsboro and bumps their season record up to 10-5. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 4-11 McClain and 4-10 Wilmington. As for Wilmington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Hillsboro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Miami Trace on the 18th. As for Wilmington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against McClain on the 22nd.
