Basketball Game Preview: New Milford Green Wave vs. Notre Dame Prep Lancers

New Milford is 1-8 against Notre Dame Prep since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The New Milford Green Wave will venture away from home to face off against the Notre Dame Prep Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

New Milford is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They fell 67-57 to Masuk.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Notre Dame Prep). They claimed a resounding 106-41 victory over Brookfield. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Bobcats are ranked 147th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Notre Dame Prep's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.5 points per game. As for New Milford, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

New Milford took a serious blow against Notre Dame Prep in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 80-32. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point New Milford was down 48-13.
