Baseball Game Preview: Sunnyside Grizzlies vs. Chiawana Riverhawks

The Sunnyside Grizzlies will square off against the Chiawana Riverhawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sunnyside has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Chiawana will come in with three straight victories.

Sunnyside blew Prosser out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Prosser got their revenge. Sunnyside fell just short of Prosser by a score of 7-5.

Daniel Mohr made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Trey Castro, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Chiawana ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lewis & Clark 8-7.

Chiawana's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Sunnyside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
