Basketball Recap: Mccool Junction's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of four wins, McCool Junction's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 55-29 to the Sacred Heart Irish. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Irish are ranked 33rd).

When it comes to explaining why McCool Junction lost, don't look at Claire Brugger. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Those 15 points gave Brugger a new career-high.

McCool Junction's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Sacred Heart, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

McCool Junction didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-21 defeat against Freeman on the 30th. As for Sacred Heart, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-43 victory against Syracuse on the 30th.
