Baseball Recap: Westlake Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Westlake ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Thousand Oaks Lancers, sneaking past 3-2. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Westlake got a great performance from Connor Jacobson as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Berlinger, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Mason Charles, who went 2-for-5 with one home run.

Westlake pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Thousand Oaks, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Westlake will have a chance to go back-to-back against Thousand Oaks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
