Softball Recap: Oakman Wildcats vs. Dora Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hayden, Oakman was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 19-3 margin over the Dora Bulldogs. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Sophie Davis was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with four RBI.

In other batting news, Oakman got a massive performance out of Ciara Stanton, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Stanton a new career-high. Journi Randle was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Oakman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Oakman's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Dora, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Looking ahead, Oakman will face off against Vina at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dora, they will take on Sumiton Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
