Baseball Game Preview: Westland Hialeah Wildcats vs. Monsignor Pace Spartans

The Westland Hialeah Wildcats will face off against the Monsignor Pace Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Westland Hialeah has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Westland Hialeah lost 11-1 to Northwestern on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Bulls recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Monsignor Pace made sure to put some runs up on the board against Miami Beach on Thursday. The Spartans blew past the Hi-Tides 10-3. Considering the Spartans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Daniel Fumero looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Robert Kramer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Derek Lyman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Monsignor Pace's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-10. As for Westland Hialeah, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Westland Hialeah couldn't quite get it done against Monsignor Pace in their previous meeting back in March of 2016 as they fell 6-2. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
