Basketball Recap: Mayfield's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mayfield won the last time they faced Chardon and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mayfield Wildcats snuck past the Chardon Hilltoppers with a 51-47 win. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on four straight.

Despite the loss, Chardon still got an impressive performance from Cameron Gerlica, who went 6 of 13 en route to 18 points and seven boards. The matchup was Gerlica's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lilli Dillworth, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Mayfield's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Chardon, they moved to 10-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Kenston the next time they take the court. Chardon will host Kenston at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Mayfield will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
