Volleyball Recap: Alhambra Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Concord on Tuesday, Alhambra came back down to earth. The Bulldogs came up short against the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 24, 2024, but that streak is no more.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-9, 25-16.

Leading Clayton Valley Charter to victory were McKenna Andrade and Izabela Markiel. Andrade had six digs and three aces, while Markiel hit 70% for seven kills and nine aces and three digs. Those nine aces gave Markiel a new career-high. Olivia Trinidad also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Alhambra's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.
