Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Washington Township). Everything went their way against the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles on Saturday as they made off with a 23-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Senators, who have now won seven matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Janet Meade spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Clair Klinger, who went 2-for-4 with four runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Hannah Ewing, who went 2-for-4 with four runs and one RBI.

Washington Township hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elkhart Christian Academy struck out eight times.

The win made it two in a row for Washington Township and bumps their season record up to 9-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-12.

Washington Township has already played their next contest, a 5-1 loss against Westville on the 29th. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-10 win against Triton on the 26th.
