Basketball Recap: Southwest Onslow Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Southwest Onslow had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They secured a 51-45 W over the Kinston Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Stallions: when they faced off against the Vikings back in January, they had to take a 46-37 defeat.

Oriyanna Galloway continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 31 points and 11 rebounds. Galloway is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Khimara Dorsey, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 16 boards.

Southwest Onslow smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Southwest Onslow is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Kinston's loss dropped their record down to 21-4.

Coming up, Southwest Onslow will square off against East Duplin on Friday. East Duplin will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Southwest Onslow surely won't give up without a fight. Kinston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
