Basketball Recap: Jamila Omardin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clarkston over North Springs

Clarkston came up into this matchup off a tough 53-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the North Springs Spartans by a score of 47-44 on Friday. The Angoras' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Clarkston lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jamila Omardin, who posted eight points and eight steals. Another player making a difference was Grace Kasongo, who had 12 points and three steals.

Clarkston's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for North Springs, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.

Clarkston and Towers will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on December 30th. Clarkston is facing Towers at the right time seeing as Towers is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for North Springs, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on The Weber School at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
