Recap: Goodrich Martians vs. Frankenmuth Eagles
The Goodrich Martians won the last time they faced the Frankenmuth Eagles, and things went their way on Thursday too. Goodrich came out on top against Frankenmuth by a score of 54-44. The victory was all the more spectacular given Goodrich's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Frankenmuth is ranked 78th).
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Knoll, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. Knoll is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Conzelmann, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Goodrich's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Frankenmuth, they bumped their record down to 3-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goodrich will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against De La Salle Collegiate at 5:15 p.m. on December 30th. As for Frankenmuth, they will square off against Linden at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
