Softball Recap: Lake Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lake couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Lexington Minutemen on Wednesday, falling 9-1. The Flyers were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but the Minutemen's pitchers proved too tough.

The defeat snapped Lake's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 26-4 record. As for Lexington, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lexington, they will face off against Bryan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Bears will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Minutemen surely won't give up without a fight.
