Baseball Recap: Brillion Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chilton, Brillion was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Two Rivers Purple Raiders 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Purple Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Joe Shimek made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Shimek was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Shimek wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was MC Zutz, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. That run was Zutz's first of the season.

Brillion's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Two Rivers, their record now sits at 1-4.

Brillion will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Purple Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
