Volleyball Game Preview: Mission Bay Buccaneers vs. University City Centurions

Mission Bay hasn't had much luck against University City recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Buccaneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Centurions at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Mission Bay came up short against Coronado and fell 3-1. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mission Bay started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-23, 25-23, 28-26.

Meanwhile, University City entered their contest against Mira Mesa on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Centurions fell just short of the Marauders by a score of 3-2.

University City actually scored more points across those five sets (116-111), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 26-28, 29-27, 25-23, 16-25, 15-13.

University City's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Mission Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
