Basketball Game Preview: Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights vs. Springwood Wildcats

Macon-East Montgomery Academy and Springwood are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2020, but not for long. The Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights will head out to face off against the Springwood Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Macon-East Montgomery Academy ended up a good deal behind Abbeville Christian Academy and lost 66-47.

The losing side was boosted by Thaddeus McKinney, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 13 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Johnson, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Springwood earned a 54-45 win over Konos Academy on Monday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 185th in Alabama, while the Condor are ranked 502nd in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Springwood is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy came up short against Springwood when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 43-37. Can Macon-East Montgomery Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
