Softball Recap: Whitwell Tigers vs. Sale Creek Panthers

Whitwell can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They blew past the Sale Creek Panthers 9-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for Whitwell.

Kailee Yarber was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Yarber has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Yarber was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Whitwell got a massive performance out of Mallory O'Neal, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and two RBI. Kasie Britton was another key contributor, going 3-for-4 with a home run.

Whitwell pushed their record up to 16-12 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Sale Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Whitwell has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome South Pittsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
