Volleyball Recap: Northside Takes a Loss

Northside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Whitney Young Dolphins. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Dolphins from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-9.

Northside's offense was headlined by Stella Paleologos and Maia Khetani, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Lily Fisher and her six assists.

Jordyn McCoy was nothing short of spectacular for Whitney Young: she had six digs and four aces. Those four aces gave McCoy a new career-high. Kyla Young also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Whitney Young, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Northside is set to challenge their familiar foe Chicago Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Whitney Young will face off against rival Lane Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
