Softball Recap: Lake Travis Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Lake Travis barely beat Del Valle the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lake Travis Cavaliers were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over the Del Valle Cardinals on Friday. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.

Julianna Rodriguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Haley Whitefield was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Regan Moore was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Lake Travis' win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 9-5-1. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.75 runs. As for Del Valle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3-1.

Coincidentally, Lake Travis and Del Valle will both be playing Dripping Springs the next time they take the field. Lake Travis will head out to face Dripping Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Del Valle will host them at 7:00 p.m. on March 14th.
