Basketball Recap: Okeechobee Falls to Desoto County in First Game of Season

Okeechobee had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 64-56 to the DeSoto County Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Brahmans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

DeSoto County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Te'Coy Campbell led the charge by shooting 50% from the field to rack up 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Marlon Taylor was another key player, going 5-for-11 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Okeechobee won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Vero Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for DeSoto County, they will square off against Imagine School at North Port at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
