Basketball Recap: Aquinas' Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Aquinas won the last time they faced Logan View/Scribner-Snyder and things went their way on Saturday too. The Aquinas Monarchs came out on top against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder by a score of 59-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Monarchs.

Leading Aquinas to victory were Bryant Stouffer and Garett Novacek. Stouffer dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards, while Novacek went 8 of 13 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. Those 21 points gave Novacek a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailer Pohl, who posted six points.

Despite the loss, Logan View/Scribner-Snyder saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grayson Kraus went 9 of 22 on his way to 24 points and eight rebounds. Nolan Robley was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Aquinas' win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Aquinas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-48 loss against Howells-Dodge on the 10th. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they will head out to square off against Conestoga at 4:00 p.m. on December 14th.
