Vacaville Christian will be up against a hot Fairfield squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went Fairfield's way against Florin on Thursday as Fairfield made off with an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Pat O'Reilly made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Zach O'Reilly and Donavan Luu dominated on the mound. O'Reilly went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Luu went 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Furthermore, O'Reilly didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.
Back at the plate, Devin Knox was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Tristen Smith was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases.
Fairfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Florin only posted an OBP of .217.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Vacaville Christian was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell 4-1 to Armijo. The loss was the Falcons' first of the season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Vacaville Christian fell to 2-1. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Vacaville Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fairfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. It's a different story for Vacaville Christian, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Fairfield's hitters?
Fairfield skirted past Vacaville Christian 7-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairfield since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
