Baseball Recap: Bexley Lions vs. Whetstone Braves
Bexley proved they can win big last Monday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Whetstone Braves 6-5.
Bexley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Whetstone, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bexley will venture away from home to square off against Bishop Ready at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Silver Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Whetstone, they will challenge Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Stars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.5 runs per game on average), something the Braves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
