Hoosier Hills recap October 8, 2013
Columbus East added to the longest winning streak in Hoosier Hills this week by beating Madison, 41-7. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Olympians.
Floyd Central took down Bedford North Lawrence 69-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brandon Stout threw for 51 yards, ran for 74 yards and caught 2 passes for 73 yards in the win.
Markell Jones provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Columbus East beat the Cubs. Jones' key target this week was JT Voelker, who caught 3 passes for 36 yards.
Stout was the best wideout in the league this week as the Highlanders topped the Stars. Stout racked up 2 receptions for 73 yards. Adam Wallace helped Floyd Central's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 38 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Floyd Central's Colton Kimm and Austin Carl have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Kimm has thrown for 985 yards this season, while Carl has 15 catches for 269 yards. Tuwan Payton from New Albany leads the league in rushing with 1,676 yards.
A big matchup in Hoosier Hills this week will be when Jeffersonville takes on Bob Gaddis' team. At the moment, the Red Devils are in fourth, while the Olympians are in first.
