Baseball Recap: Argo Takes a Loss

Argo's last matchup with Shepard could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Argonauts lost 15-6 to the Astros. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Argonauts have suffered since April 17th.

Valente Melero was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cristo Fernandez, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Argo and nudges their season record down to 8-13. As for Shepard, they now have a winning record of 9-8-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Argo will face off against Thornton Fractional South at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Argonauts are facing the Red Wolves at the right time seeing as the Red Wolves are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Shepard, they will challenge Bremen at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Astros' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
