Recap: Miamisburg Vikings vs. Olentangy Braves
The Miamisburg Vikings and the Olentangy Braves squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Miamisburg Vikings had to settle for second. Miamisburg lost to Olentangy on the road by a decisive 38-21 margin. While losing is never fun, Miamisburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Olentangy is ranked 13th).
Olentangy was led to victory by Riley Clarkson and Ethan Grunkemeyer. Clarkson rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, while Grunkemeyer threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns. Grunkemeyer is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. Gavin Grover got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Miamisburg's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Olentangy, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Miamisburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Olentangy will be playing in front of their home fans against Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Springfield will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
