Baseball Game Preview: West Harrison Hurricanes vs. George County Rebels

For the second straight game, West Harrison will face off against George County. West Harrison will venture away from home to challenge George County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Harrison's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four contests, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for West Harrison's offense. They lost 15-0 to George County on Friday.

For George County's part, Carson Pierce made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Furthermore, Pierce didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Davis, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for George County: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise.

The win got George County back to even at 7-7. As for West Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
