Basketball Recap: Plattsburg Comes Up Short

Plattsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lawson Cardinals. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 52-47.

It was another big night for Isaac Willoughby, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 23 points and eight rebounds for Lawson. That makes it three consecutive games in which Willoughby has scored at least a third of Lawson's points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Phipps, who posted 11 points and eight boards.

Plattsburg's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Lawson, their record is now 6-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plattsburg will host Northland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lawson, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lawson Cardinals challenge the Braymer Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
