Basketball Recap: Richfield Wins Going Away Against Carbon

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Richfield on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 48-32 win over the Carbon Dinos. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 42-31 back in December of 2024.

Abbee Albrecht was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Karli Jones also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Richfield was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carbon only posted four assists.

Carbon's loss came despite strong showings from Jacie Jensen and Rylee Butler. Jensen went 5 of 11 on her way to 13 points and three steals, while Butler posted six points. The dominant performance gave Butler a new career-high in points.

The victory made it two in a row for Richfield and bumps their season record up to 11-9. As for Carbon, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Richfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-52 win against North Sanpete on the 28th. Carbon has also already played their next matchup, a 56-32 defeat against Manti on the 28th.
