Baseball Recap: Elba Takes a Loss

Elba lost against Brantley back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Elba Tigers lost 18-8 to the Brantley Bulldogs. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly ten runs.

Skylar Mitchell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Powell Bane, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Elba is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7. As for Brantley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

While Elba had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
